Iva Zaczyk
HND Beauty Therapist | Precision Beauty & Clinic Coordinator
Iva has worked in the beauty industry since 2014 and holds an HND in Beauty Therapy from Edinburgh College, achieved with Grade A. Her extensive professional education spans precision beauty and advanced skin practice, with further training through leading professional systems including Gelish, LYCON, Nouveau Lashes, Sothys, Elemis, Dermalogica and mesoestetic.
At Betiva, Precision Beauty and Clinic Coordination are Iva’s principal domain. She specialises in meticulous nail treatments, lash lifts LVL, precision waxing and selected skin treatments, while her broader skin education includes professional chemical peels and Cosmelan, microneedling with mPen and Axion, and mesotherapy/skin booster protocols.
What makes an appointment with Iva particularly distinctive, however, is the combination of precision and exceptional gentleness.
Long-standing clients know her for her meticulous attention to detail, calm manner and an extraordinarily light touch — so much so that she has earned the nickname “the butterfly.” Whether perfecting the smallest detail of a nail treatment, working around the delicate eye area or carrying out a skin protocol, Iva never treats an appointment as something to simply get through. She takes time, observes carefully and works with consideration for the individual in front of her.
Her warm, approachable nature makes her particularly good at helping clients feel comfortable and cared for, while her extensive training provides the professional foundation behind that seemingly effortless experience.
Within the Betiva model, Iva works alongside Betty to provide continuity of care across the clinic. Iva leads Precision Beauty and Clinic Coordination, while Betty leads Skin Intelligence, treatment pathway development and Clinic Management. Their different areas of focus are deliberately complementary, allowing recommendations and care to be based on what is most appropriate for each client rather than simply who performs a particular treatment.
Outside the clinic, Iva is a mum of three, including twins, and these days an increasingly passionate gardener. Give her a sunny day and something to plant, propagate or persuade to flower and she is very much in her element. She still loves cooking and baking too, and many of the homemade cakes and little treats that appear at Betiva have come straight from Iva’s kitchen.
Betty Polec
Skin Intelligence Lead | Clinic Manager
Betty has worked in the beauty and skin industry since 2009, with a professional practice increasingly centred on one question: what will genuinely make a meaningful difference to this person’s skin?
Her education spans advanced skin therapy, permanent and medical micropigmentation and scar-focused treatments. She has trained across professional systems including mesoestetic, Sothys, Neogliss, Natinuel, BioRePeel and Medik8, alongside advanced education in chemical peeling, Cosmelan depigmentation protocols, mPen and Axion microneedling and mesotherapy/skin booster techniques.
Betty is also an experienced Permanent Makeup Artist, with specialist education through PhiBrows, Nouveau Contour and KB Pro, including Master Artist training, alongside medical micropigmentation and scar-focused education with AmazInk Areola and ScarINK. Her work has included cosmetic tattooing of brows, lips and eyes, as well as supporting clients affected by alopecia, surgical changes, scarring and loss of areola pigmentation.
At Betiva, Betty leads Skin Intelligence, treatment pathway development and Clinic Management.
Her approach to skin is deliberately assessment-led. Rather than beginning with a treatment, Betty begins with the person: skin history, current presentation, previous interventions, homecare, lifestyle and the factors that may influence how the skin behaves and responds. From there, treatment and homecare recommendations can be structured into a realistic pathway — including recognising when treatment should be modified, postponed or referred elsewhere.
This thinking forms part of Betiva’s wider philosophy: beauty should never compromise biological integrity. Betty is particularly interested in supporting clients whose skin does not fit neatly into a standard beauty-treatment menu, including changing or hormonally influenced skin and clients experiencing acne, sensitivity, impaired barrier function, pigmentation or visible signs of ageing.
Clients who enjoy understanding why something is happening to their skin tend to find themselves very much at home in Betty’s treatment room. She loves questions, challenges assumptions and would much rather explain why she doesn’trecommend a treatment than sell one simply because it is available.
And outside Betiva?
Betty is mum to a teenage daughter — but describing her as having hobbies would probably be optimistic. Given an unexpected free hour, she is far more likely to be found reading clinical papers, medical literature or university research on skin, wound healing, pigmentation and aesthetic practice than doing anything conventionally described as relaxing.
For Betty, Skin Intelligence isn’t particularly good work-life balance.
It is the thing she genuinely loves.
